The House of Verses stands as a poetic embodiment of the client’s beliefs in spirituality, minimalism, and conscious living. Its architecture abstracts these "verses," translating them into physical spaces and elements, creating a home that resonates with their essence.

The Challenge

I joined the project after its initial concept and design stages, tasked with refining the details, materiality, and interiors. Beyond this, I sought to elevate the role of architectural drawings—shifting them from mere representations to expressive reflections of the space's spirit and character. This endeavor turned the process into a graphic exploration, where each drawing became an art form in itself.

The plans embraced a monochromatic palette, mirroring the house’s minimalist and monolithic interiors while evoking serenity and balance. Windowed and windowless arches, along with the arched vault, were not just functional but graphic elements, creating a cohesive visual language that unified the spatial narrative. This integration bridged the architectural concept with its representation, reinforcing the project’s identity across mediums.

As I delved deeper into the process, I came to realize that curating a cohesive aesthetic was second nature to me. Years of instinctively crafting and refining the spaces around me had honed my sensitivity to nuances in color, style, and proportion.

This project became a canvas to weave these intuitions into a unified identity, spanning space, drawings, and materiality. It also marked my foray into the realm of branding, where design principles became the guiding thread for a cohesive narrative across every medium. The House of Verses is more than a residence—it is a symphony of space, material, and narrative, guided by principles of coherence and authenticity, reflecting the client’s philosophy and a unified vision.

Materials & Moods

Circular Systems

The materiality aimed to evoke continuity, creating seamless, monolithic surfaces that blur boundaries. Lime plaster was chosen for both interiors and exteriors, while concrete flooring added depth and durability. The palette remained minimal and earthy, aligned with the client’s philosophy of simple and natural living.

To amplify this aesthetic, the furniture and furnishings embraced raw, natural elements—timber, cane, and raw linens—infusing warmth and texture into the spaces. Together, these materials crafted an environment that felt grounded yet ethereal, minimal yet deeply connected to its spiritual and natural inspirations.
